What a mess Seiya always managed to get herself into. Yaten was really used to it after all the years she’d been there to dig Seiya out. Part of her wanted to do this; but at the same time, part of her said she should get Seiya into bed and go. Although, it was very clear that Seiya needed her, so she was going to be there.

Yaten helped her into a bedroom of Taiki’s, not really knowing what to expect from Seiya at this point considering what she’d drunkenly blurted out earlier. Which was most likely the booze talking. “Lay down idiot.” Yaten said while sitting Seiya on the bed.

She dragged herself to the bed. A beautiful and silly smile across her face. She did not really know who came to the party, what happened, all she knew was that she was happy, oh so very happy that Yaten had shown up.

Seiya sat down and looked at Yaten. “Will you lay down with me?”

If there was one thing that Yaten had seen coming, it was this. Most likely due to the fact that she could see all of this in steps. Seiya was drunk, and being the idiot Seiya was, she was going to cross boundaries. It had been some time since the last moment these two had been alone like this. The last time, it had taken Yaten months to get over it. Did she really want to do it again? Could she?

Yaten sat down next to Seiya and sighed. “Just lay down Seiya. I’m here. Isn’t that enough?”

“How sweet of you. May this likeable idiot invite you for ice cream? Or something else?”
Of course she would do something like that. Seiya never ceased to amaze Yaten with her ability to turn Yaten’s criticism into a way to bring them closer. “I do happen to own an ice cream shop. We can meet there if you’d like to.”

“I happen to know that.” She chuckled.
To be honest, every other day Seiya would walk by that shop hoping to at least take a glimpse at Yaten but that never worked.

“Good then meet me there. Fifteen minutes. Don’t be late.”

As if Yaten would be late. She was so precise and meticulous about everything she did. She would certainly beat Seiya there.

Yaten wore a nice lime green dress and her typical high white socks. She stood in front of the store, her hair down like it always was now. “You were almost here before me.” She told the other starlight when she saw Seiya approaching her. “I already know what you’re going to say.” She looked annoyed for a second before turning and walking inside. “Save it.” She spoke up, entering the shop.

star-fighter-make-up whispered,

"No other girl puts up with me like you do." She smirked. "C'mon, I missed you. Did you miss me?"

"Like I always tell you. You’re an idiot. But you’re a likeable idiot. At least to me."

You have got to be kidding me. I am always the one who contacts you. You keep vanishing.

"I suppose the other girls aren’t putting up with you?”

Looking into your own eyes

What is in a symbol? Was it just something that represented something else? For Yaten, looking at her bass sitting in the corner meant much more than something so simply described. To others it might be nothing but an instrument. After all, it couldn’t move. It had no heartbeat. It didn’t think, and if it didn’t possess any form of consciousness, then that meant it wasn’t alive.

It really wasn’t that simple.

To hold that instrument again meant to take back what she had somewhat thrown away, right? She stopped dressing like she was a guy. It had been months since she’d thrown off the trench coat in that park in front of people she knew recognized her. The looks on their faces were unforgettable. The way they all stood in shock. Some even fainted.

Was it really that hard to believe that Yaten was female all along?

She didn’t look male at all. She never had in the first place. It was honestly amazing to her that she had ever gotten away with it.

All of these thoughts soared through Yaten’s mind as she stared at the stringed object sitting there in front of her. It was like facing herself in a sense. She felt like this thing looked back at her when she looked at it.

Why was it so hard to face this?

Was it Seiya or Taiki? Maybe the fact that she wondered how her fans would react to this. Even if they didn’t know her for her, at least she wasn’t acting like a different person at the same time. That had only led her to being angry with herself and them. No one won in that regard.

Though not being able to face herself in this sense was taking away from her doing something that she really did love. Music was as much a part of her as it was the other two. She felt pulled to it even if she didn’t like random girls throwing themselves at her. She wanted to use her voice.

It was no other experience when all three of them played and sang together.

She had to do this for herself. This was a step in her life that she had to take. No matter what others would say or think, this was Yaten being Yaten; and no one could ever make her do or be something other than herself.

No.

Not anyone.

Her hand reached for the instrument, and she picked it up. Such a small action to make it as big of a deal as she did, but this was personal. No one but her had to look into her eyes in the mirror. Whatever new meaning she might find on the stage this time was up in the air.

But maybe that was how it was meant to be…….

Seiya obeyed and didn’t say anything on that note anymore. She didn’t invite Yaten over to start a fight between them.

Seiya’s eyes followed Yaten, knowing she would look for a bass. Smiling, she knew soon enough Yaten would pick the instrument up.

“Yes, I am.” She replied conveying how serene she felt. “You know I’m always happier when I’m surrounded with music.” She continued.

“That was one of the most exciting days in my entire life.” Seiya could still remember the details. She had tried every instrument, she had walked around, learning how to work equipments, it was where she belonged. “You were happy too. Playing your music.”

She watched Yaten picking the bass up.

“It feels natural seeing you like that.” She smiled. “I miss working on our music…” Admitting this was easy, but it had deeper meaning. Times when they worked on their music were times they were closer. If there was something that could make these two get along it was their music.

That was something the two, no the three of them truly shared no matter what happened. They all three loved music, and would most likely continue to play no matter what happened. The all had their individual voices, and the fans loved them. Of course, that wasn’t why Yaten liked to create it. She looked at it in a much simpler fashion than her widespread celebrity status. She saw it as an art form, and she did it purely to convey her own imagination through sound.

"That’s something we’ll always share." The silver haired starlight spoke. "Music never leaves me." She wondered when the next time she would get to make music would be. It had been some time, and if she wanted, she was sure she could release a solo album. It would probably sell like crazy, just like anything any of the three of them released did. However, she liked the three of them working together too much to do that.

The feeling she got when she was singing together with Taiki and Seiya was too much to just decide to abandon.

"Maybe sometime…..we three will create more music." She put the bass back down and turned back to Seiya. "I would like to sing again someday." Maybe for herself, for Minako, or for her Queen.

That afternoon was going smoothly. Seiya spent most of her time working on a particular song. Said song made her think of Yaten. She’d like it if she listened to it, wouldn’t she? And so she called her dearest friend. After a long time without much contact.

Seiya anxiously awaited for Yaten inside the control room, purposely alone. She didn’t want her producer Jirou or any of the assistants and musicians around, after all, she wanted to spend time with Yaten and Yaten alone.

When Yaten finally came in, Seiya was pacing around. Of course, upon seeing her, Seiya smiled and opened her mouth to compliment on her outfit but the silverette already expected that.

“One comment on my look and I’ll throw you out the window.”

That was Yaten She was just like a typhoon in Seiya’s life. Even with that simple of a comment, it was enought to make Seiya smile. Things seemed much more intense around the short girl.

“You’re not strong enough to do so.” She waved Yaten off, in a fake bored tone.

“What’s so important?” She repeated closing the door behind Yaten. “Just wanted to see your beautiful face.” Seiya winked knowing she would get a reaction from Yaten. “And to hang out really.” She said in a natural tone. “We haven’t hang out just the two of us in a while…”

Since right after the fury. A long time ago.
Things had been so weird between the two of them…

A huff left her lips quickly after Seiya’s comment. “I didn’t come her for your flirting. Save it for our fans.” She rolled her eyes and sat down in a chair close by. Yaten had felt so much better after her being able to be herself. However, Seiya’s flirting with her had only gotten more intensified by it. It wasn’t that Yaten minded compliments. It was more like Seiya’s compulsive habit to come onto any girl she saw.

The studio was nice, and Yaten’s eyes found a bass nearby. Music held no less importance to her now than it did before she had revealed herself as female. She loved it, and she wanted to continue. She often found herself singing quietly to herself or humming while on the way to a destination. Being in a place like this felt nostalgic. “You’re happy here.” Yaten sensed through Seiya’s star seed. “It seems like a lifetime ago when we came into a studio for the first time.”

Looking at the bass made her want to pick it up and play.

She stood and walked to the instrument and picked it up, looking at it. “It feels so natural, having this in my hands.”
